Take one jar . . . and create a nature display

Walks at this time of year are punctuated by frequent interruptions: stooping to collect hazelnuts in their fresh green casings, pausing to admire the berries in the hedgerows. A few treasures always make it home with us.

We rediscovered the idea of the nature table by displaying our finds in a glass jar; replacing the lid of a coffee jar with a large, glass ramekin dish, then placing it upside down in an old cash tray to create a domed display case.

Things to look for:

Rosehips, hawthorn berries, hazelnuts and filberts.

The first turned leaves; the first fallen conkers.

Field maple helicopters, beech mast, trailing bryony and old man’s beard.

What else have you found?

  1. I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your website.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me
to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to
    create your theme? Superb work!

    1. Glad you’re enjoying it and thanks for your comments. The design is just a standard WordPress theme called The Structure Theme. It’s a smart layout but the font seems a little small!
