. . . wide open spaces.
Out beyond the house the meadows have turned to grasslands, seeming ever more expansive as the summer progresses.
The cornfields will be cropped, and from the upstairs windows we’ll see golden stubble stretching out to meet the black-green shapes of the hedges and trees.
Then there’s the promise of escape: whether to the coast, to drink in wide sea views or wander along endless shorelines; to climb mountains and look as far as the eye can see; or to travel paths across open countryside, following in the footsteps of countless others that have gone before.
Welcome to this month’s simple pleasures and seasonal joys.
